Advanced Techniques
Advance Techniques (1) - Knife -related attack:
The sequence below represents a deconstruction of a perfect defence against an aggressive or violent attack. It’s broken into four (4) steps (From the Sequence) so the practitioner can analyze each step individually and improve their responses.

It is also simply a representation (watch the video for extra information) of the impact of time on each step in the sequence as you approach the threat. This is why not being in a state of awareness creates a domino effect, knocking down the other steps one by one, and at the same time reducing your chances of repelling an attack and allowing you to escape safely.

It is really important to practice every day, in order to improve those steps above, by scanning your surroundings with your peripheral vision, monitoring all events (involving different objects/elements: people, foods, cars, rooms, halls, elevator, emergency exits, etc.), recognizing threats, describing those threats to someone, preparing by mentally (imagine) simulating responses, and responding at the right time with the right respond to avoid irreversible damage.
Note: Here are the definitions for the words Event, Object, and Element that best fit this concept according to Merriam-Webster:
-
Event: Something that happens.
-
Object: Something material that may be perceived by the senses.
-
Element: One of the factors determining the outcome of a process.
This is why, not only do you need to be able to recognize and monitor the various events in your environment, but it is equally important to monitor the impact of the objects/elements on the desired outcome (Intent, Goals, Objectives, Dreams, etc.).
